Webbed Designs prides itself on producing websites that enhance the user experience by looking visually pleasing and allowing the user to easily find the information they are seeking. Webbed Designs designers consider and encompass the full range of appropriate Human Computer Interaction (HCI) techniques when designing and creating websites. Our main focuses in creating high quality websites are:

Readability – we concentrate our efforts on ensuring the websites we produce are easily readable. We feel there is no point having a website that looks visually impressive but nobody can read. If the user can't read the contents of your website then they are unlikely to want to look at your website for long or visit your site again.

Navigation – we make a point of ensuring the navigation of the sites are 110% efficient and extremely easy to use. We especially put high emphasis on creating seamless navigation. Too often websites are designed that look visually good and have good content but when navigating though the site you find yourself in a position where you do not no where to go to get certain information or a certain page.

Colour and Graphics – we create our websites with a good use of colour and graphics that makes it easy on the eye to read. We ensure the use of colour and graphics doesn’t distract the user from the content of the site whilst still maintaining an eye pleasing experience.

Speed - we design and optimise our websites to ensure that they can be viewed extremely quickly. Customers like to be able access websites rapidly. We use our knowledge to allow for speedy download times.
Fact: 90% of customers will leave your site if the download time is greater than 25 seconds. The average website download time is around 12 seconds. We like to keep all our sites download times well below this (Fact timings based on a 56k modem).

Website Decision

We generally recommend that our customers choose static websites as opposed to animated sites as we feel from our research these are the most effective sites. (As testament to our research: You only need to search for a topic on Google or a well known website and you will notice nearly all of the websites are not animated or have very little animation). Static websites have a large number of advantages including: they are compatible with all browsers (the way that you look at a website), they allow better results from search engines, they allow for faster downloads, and they are cheaper for you the consumer.

On the other hand if your looking for that WOW factor and search engine rankings aren't very important, then animated sites are worth considering. These websites offer a visually impressive experience and offer a form of interactivity that most other websites won't have. On the downside they are extremely hard to get noticed by the search engines, there can be an increase in the web page loading time, and older computers struggle to handle animated websites.
